Title: Confirmation of the existence of the. sigma. /sub c//sup + +/ and. lambda. /sub c//sup +/ charmed baryons

Abstract

In a broad-band neutrino exposure of the Fermilab 15-ft. bubble chamber, the production of the ..sigma../sub c//sup + +/(2426) charmed baryon followed by its decay to ..lambda../sub /c/sup +/(2260) and ..pi../sup +/ was observed. The mass of the ..lambda../sub c//sup +/ was found to be (2257 +- 10) MeV and the m(..sigma../sub c//sup + +/) - m(..lambda../sub c//sup +/) mass difference to be (168 +- 3) MeV. Previously unseen two body decay modes of the ..lambda../sub c//sup +/(2260) are observed. 15 references.
