Title: Fine structure in the mass yields from fission of /sup 237/Np by neutrons

Abstract

The mass-spectrometer method has been used to measure the relative cumulative yields of the xenon isotopes (A=131, 132, 134, 136) obtained from fission of /sup 237/Np by fast neutrons and 14.7-MeV neutrons. The existence of a fine structure at A=134 is explained by the increased probability of formation of the fragment pair with an 82-neutron shell in the heavy fragment.
