Title: Gravitational acceleration of antiprotons and of positrons

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. D; (United States)

Theories of quantum gravity predict the existence of spin-1 (graviphoton) and spin-0 (graviscalar) partners of the graviton, which will yield non-Newtonian, non-Einsteinian effects. In particular, although the static gravitational acceleration of matter to the Earth could be modified by small Yukawa-type terms, the static gravitational acceleration of antimatter would be modified by a larger factor. Since these new interactions couple to an unknown linear combination of baryon and lepton numbers, it is important to do both the planned antiproton gravity experiment and a proposed positron gravity experiment. Antihydrogen is also mentioned.
