Title: Structural peculiarities of rat liver DNA during inhibition of protein synthesis by cycloheximide

Journal Article · · Biochemistry (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5933835

Curves of the reassociation of rat liver DNA, isolated 12-48 h after the animals were given a sublethal dose of CHI, were obtained in the region of the parameter c/sub 0/t up to 20. For summary preparations of DNA-24 and DNA-36 at c/sub 0/t 0.02-0.6, an increase in the contribution of the rapidly reassociating sequences by an average of 4% was recorded. For individual kinetic fractions the differences in the rate of reassociation reach the 2.5-3-fold level. The total incorporation of the label of the DNA-24 preparation is sharply reduced; however, there is a substantial heterogeneity of the incorporation for fractions differentiated according to the parameter c/sub 0/t.
