The illumination of clouds or fog with constant radiation at the wavelength of lambda = 10.6 ..mu..m. Formulas are given. The conclusion reached for the variable intervals indicated for pulsed transillumination of an aerosol is more advantageous than continuous transillumination as far as the energy is concerned.
