Various papers on sensors and ancillary equipment, technological advances, development and testing, and intelligence extraction and exploitation in airborne reconnaissance are presented. The topics discussed include: the CA-810 modern trilens camera, PC-183B standoff imaging system, ruggedized MMW radiometer sensor for surveillance applications, application of biocular viewers to airborne reconnaissance, KA-102 film/EO standoff system, KS-146A camera development and flight test results, electrooptical imaging for film cameras, and new generation advanced IR linescan sensor system. Since the advent of high resolution, high data rate electronic sensors for military aircraft, the demands on their counterpart, the image generator hard copy output system, have increased dramatically. This has included support of direct overflight and standoff reconnaissance systems and often has required operation within a military shelter or van. Sandia National Laboratories has recently delivered ten ducted fan airborne reconnaissance vehicles to the US Marine Corps for training and evaluation. This Airborne Remote Operated Device (AROD) concept centers on a ducted fan lifting technique that uses on-board attitude sensors and a stabilization computer to minimize the operator training requirements.
