Annual Hostile Environments and High Temperature Measurements Conference, 3rd, Cincinnati, OH, Mar. 25, 26, 1986, Proceedings
This volume includes topics on strain measurement at extreme temperatures, high-temperature strain gage calibration, advanced instrumentation techniques, and high-temperature material evaluation. Papers are presented on strain measurement by speckle photogrammetry on a rotating disk at elevated temperatures, the NASA strain gage laboratory, high-temperature dynamic strain gage calibration, frequency-tracking heterodyning method used for improved resolution with capacitive blade tip clearance measurements, and embedded fiber-optic acoustic sensor for composite materials. Additional papers are on a computer-controlled thermal fatigue test system, a unique elevated-temperature tension-torsion fatigue rig, the measurement of stresses/strains at cryogenic temperatures due to a pipe ice plugging procedure, and a comparison of apparent strain calibration approaches to 400 C for strain gages.
