Title: Forced flow cooling-type superconducting coil apparatus

Abstract

This patent describes a forced flow cooling-type superconducting coil apparatus comprising: a superconducing coil made of a coiled superconducting conductor having a hollow conduit and having superconducting wires inserted into the conduit; current leads for supplying currents to superconducting wires of the superconducting coil, the current leads being respectively connected to ends of the superconducting coil; first cooling means for forcibly flowing coolant for cooling the superconducting wires from one end of the hollow conduit of the superconducting coil to the other end thereof through the hollow conduit; and second cooling means including branch means for branching a part of the coolant to flow from a position near the one end of the hollow conduit of the first cooling means to another position near the another end of the hollow conduit along at least a part of each of the current leads thereby cooling the current leads by the branched coolant.
