Successes in the Sorrento Field are keeping drilling rigs active on the plains of southeastern Colorado. As activity increases, there may be a westward move into the Denver-Julesburg Basin. Discoveries reported in Cheyenne County are helping to maintain interest, although the leasing frenzy is over. Seismic companies report that their activity has slacked off for the data sales, but work continues. Land deals indicate a trend toward drilling three or four troughs in the area. 1 figure.
