Title: Fuel rod gripper end cap for minimizing impact with grid cell dimples

Abstract

This patent describes a fuel rod gripper end cap. It comprises a body having a longitudinal axis and a forward camming portion and a rearward mounting portion disposed in tandem relation along the axis; and attachment flutes disposed internally of the mounting portion of the body and projecting radially inwardly therefrom toward the longitudinal axis of the body.
