Title: Thick-target measurements and astrophysical thermonuclear reactions rates: Proton-induced reactions

Abstract

We have studied 72 proton-induced reactions on a variety of targets from /sup 10/B through /sup 152/Sm. These include (rho,..cap alpha..), (rho,..gamma..), and (rho,n) reactions leading to various ..beta.. or ..beta.. and ..gamma.. unstable final state nuclei. By measurement of the activity of the product nucleus we extract a normalized thick-target yield as a function of the energy in the center-of-mass system. An appropriate integration in energy of the yield function then allows calculation of the thermonuclear reaction rate, N/sub A//sub T/, as a function of temperature. Extensive tables of yields and rates are given primarily for use in astrophysical applications.
