Title: High efficiency distributed feedback lasers optimally designed for stable single mode operation

Abstract

Optimum design for stable single mode operation has been done for an asymmetric facet reflectivity type InGaAsP/InP DFB laser emitting at 1.3 ..mu..m. The design takes into account phase corrugation at both facets and the effect of spatial hole burning in the longitudinal direction realized in single mode operation with high efficiency.
