Energy dependence of the space-parity-violating asymmetry in the fragment emission from fission of /sup 239/Pu induced by slow polarized neutrons

The space-parity-violating asymmetry of fragment emission in fission of /sup 239/Pu by polarized neutrons has been measured for six different neutron energies in the range 0.01 eV< or =E< or =0.3 eV. The results, which favor the hypothesis that the asymmetry is independent of the energy, are discussed in the light of existing theoretical ideas.
