Title: Fading properties of a NaF:F/sup +//sub 2/* color center laser

Abstract

An investigation of the temporal stability of a color center laser based on F/sup +//sub 2/* centers in NaF is presented. It is found that the fading of the output power strongly depends on pump power, intracavity power, pump wavelength, and temperature. Optimum conditions for operation were thus derived to improve the temporal stability of this tunable laser.
