Fermions of different generations are included independently in the four-fermion interaction in an initial model which is locally SU(2)/sub L/xU(1)-invariant. This has the consequence that, owing to dynamical symmetry breaking, the resulting effective interaction Lagrangian of the gauge vector, fermion, and collective scalar fields in the single-loop approximation is identical in form to the analogous expression in the theory of Weinberg, Glashow, and Salam, where the role of the massive scalar fields in each sector is played by bound fermion--antifermion states.
