Title: Gaseous disks in Seyfert 1 nuclei

Abstract

We consider some implications of the suggestion that the broad-line component of a Seyfert 1 nucleus arises in a rotating disk whose plane is orthogonal to that of the parent galaxy. Observed line widths would be expected to decrease, and their dispersion about the mean relation to increase, with increasing inclination of the parent galaxy.
