Abstract

The second part of a list of ultraviolet excess objects is given. The objects have been selected from a Palomer Schmidt field centered on Kapteyn selected area 29. The population of objects belonging to color classes. 1A, 1, and 1B should be comprised primarily of quasars and white dwarfs and should be statistically complete to about B = 18.5 mag. One of the listed objects is a 5 mag optical variable; a journal of observations is given, derived from Harvard archival and contemporary Palomar Schmidt plates.

A list is given of 306 stellar or semistellar objects with negative U- B color index found on the third field (part of the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies) of the Asiago Survey of Blue Objects at High Galactic Latitudes. Comparing this field with the previous two, a remarkably higher number of small ultraviolet galaxies is found, therefore presumably associated with the Virgo Cluster. In a second table several ultraviolet condensations found on bright galaxies of the field are listed. Individual objects of particular interest are also described. (auth)

In this paper, we present the Data Release 12 Quasar catalog (DR12Q) from the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS) of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III. Reseau astrometry with Palomar Schmidt plates - Position-coincidence optical identification of radio sources

The simple, inexpensive method for determining celestial coordinates on original Palomar Schmidt plates developed previously is here inverted and shown to be a useful way of finding and identifying objects with known celestial coordinates. The method is especially suited for rapidly identifying large numbers of radio sources having accurate radio positions which are found in surveys made with large aperture-synthesis instruments.
