Radiation chemical behavior of plutonium during the aging of its organic solutions

The authors investigate the state of plutonium in organic solutions (extraction reagents exposed for periods of time at room temperature and increased temperature in the absence and in the presence of uranium). The concentration of ''bound'' plutonium was determined by the extraction method, and the concentration of complexes of plunium with dibutyl phosphate was determined by a spectrophotmetric method. The hydrolysis of tributyl phosphate in the absence and in the presence of uranium at the temperature 61 degrees C was investigated.
