High speed multi-channel data recorder to replace oscilloscope data acquisition systems

A photonic high speed analog data recording system previously developed in our laboratory has been used for the first time in the operational environment of a large pulsed power accelerator. The authors demonstrate a retrofit capability of this system by recording waveforms from analog electrical sensors using laser diode transmitters. This paper describes a key component of the system, a prototype High Speed Multi-Channel Data Recorder, and its application on the Sandia HydraMITE II accelerator.
