Introducing Giprokoks developments in the area of mechanization and automation of industrial processes, increasing reliability

Recent innovations and improvements incorporated into coking plants in Russia at the recommendation of the Automation and Mechanization Planning Office and the Planning Office of the All-Union Trust for the Mechanization of Coke By-Product Plants are discussed. Wide use of hydraulic devices, which makes the machinery more reliable, lighter, compact, rapid, and easily controlled and operated is one improvement. Mechanisms that have been created for removing sediments produced on the surfaces of the equipment, the reinforcement metal and the brickwork of coking batteries are described. Most of the improvements are devices that cut back on the amount of manual labor expended or that result in reduction of poisonous emissions into the atmosphere.
