Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explore how the US can solve the nation`s high-level nuclear waste problems. The author emphasizes (1) this is everyone`s problem; (2) the financial consequences are huge and immediate; (3) although time is running out, battles are being fought all over the country to change the outcome for the better; (4) there are specific actions that can be taken now to ensure the battles can be won. The article discusses these points in detail along with the social, economic and political aspects of the problem. 2 tabs.
