Title: Relativistically invariant model of hadron-hadron interactions including meson and quark-gluon degrees of freedom and its application to NN scattering

Abstract

The dispersion method of including the mesons and quark-gluon degrees of freedom in hadron-hadron scattering is related to the Jaffe-Low-Simonov P-matrix formalism by means of a special representation of the partial scattering amplitude. The CDD poles in the nonrelativistic version of the equations coincide with the P-matrix poles when the interaction due to meson-exchange effects is included, so these poles can be associated with the levels of the quark-gluon bag. A generalization of the method to include inelastic channels is proposed. The method is used to calculate the S and P phase shifts in NN scattering for incident-nucleon energies in the range T = 0--1050 MeV. It is shown, in particular, that the inclusion of meson-exchange effects has an important influence on the position of the CDD poles in the P-wave amplitudes.
