Title: Soviet and Eastern European research on biological effects of microwave radiation

Journal Article · · Proc. IEEE; (United States)

A large amount of the literature on the biological effects of microwave (MW) radiation has been obtained from the USSR and other Eastern European countries since 1973. Results of Soviet research reported since 1976 are reviewed. Biological effects of MW exposure discussed are human effects, metabolic effects, nervous system effects, immunology effects, reproductive effects, and the effects on cells and viruses. The large volume of research data from the USSR and Eastern Europe has been the important driving force in the U.S. producing concern over the biological effects of MW radiation and generating research to evaluate the significance of MW exposure.
