We report here the observation of resolved EPR hyperfine couplings for the conducting polymer AsF/sub 5/-doped poly( p-phenylene sulfide), dissolved in liquid AsF/sub 3/. Correlation of the EPR and INDO results indicates that the observed signal is due to a nonplanar sulfur-centered radical cation with the hyperfine pattern arising from the coupling of the electron to the four meta /sup 1/H's on the adjacent phenyl rings.
