Local heat transfer to a falling liquid film and a two-phase downward annular flow was studied experimentally with allowance for the waviness of the film surface and flow resistance. Relationships for calculating the principal film characteristics along the channel and for the local heat transfer coefficients were obtained. It is shown that the critical vapor content can be as high as 90 percent for a channel cooled by a liquid film at atmospheric pressure.
