Title: Intracavity frequency doubling in a self-mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser

In this letter the authors report the use of intracavity frequency doubling in a self-mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser to generate violet-blue light ultrashort pulses at a repetition rate of 82 MHz. The Ti:sapphire laser can produce 100fs pulses at a wavelength of 780nm. By frequency doubling in a 1-mm-thick lithium triborate (LBO) crystal they generate 25mw violet-blue light in each of two ends from the laser. This laser will make it possible to extend ultrafast techniques to a new spectrum regime.
