8-bit CMOS microcomputer, designed for industrial control, directs three microprocessors sharing the responsibility for the movements of an industrial robot. Such a microcomputer serves as the master controller in a distributed-processing system that controls the functions of the robot. The robot's mission is to act as a tester of electrical or electronic devices. Its capabilities include moving a device from one location to another, inserting the device into a test socket, performing tests by applying analog and digital signals, and measuring the device's responses.
