Conservative and nonconservative buckling of drill pipe

This paper considers three-dimensional and planar buckling of drill pipe under different boundary conditions. 3-D forms of instability and threshold criteria are presented. Post-buckling behavior of suspended drill pipe is studied for one special case of free end boundary conditions.
