Test bench for investigating the corrosion resistance and long-time strength of steels and alloys in a helium atmosphere
This paper contains a diagram and a description of the design of a high-temperature chamber test bench built for investigating the corrosion resistance and long-time strength of promising materials at temperatures up to 750 degrees C, pressure of about 4 MPa, and content of chemical impurities within the required controllable limits. The impurities CO, CO/sub 2/, He + 20% H/sub 2/, He + 20% CH/sub 4/ are fed in turn into the mixing manifold, are mixed with the stream of helium coming from the bottle, and conducted to the mixing bottles. The composition of the heat carrier is checked with a modernized chromatograph type LKhM8MD, its moisture content with an instrument for measuring moisture ''Hydrolog''. On the bench the conditions are as close as possible to real conditions, and it is therefore possible to test the long-time strength and corrosion resistance of any metallic material.
