Title: Size consistency in perturbation theories

Several versions of Rayleigh--Schroedinger (RS) and Brillouin--Wigner (BW) perturbation theories are tested for size consistency using a composite system consisting of N identical noninteracting subsystems. None of the BW versions and only two implementations of RS perturbation theory pass the test. The nondegenerate Brueckner--Goldstone expansion and the quasidegenerate theory of Brandow which employs a complete model space are size consistent. The incomplete model space version of Hose and Kaldor is not generally size consistent, except under special circumstances.
