Title: Pumpling system for oil production

Abstract

A pumping system for oil production comprises a hydraulic unit set on the ground and adapted to send out a pressure oil, and a pump unit set in an oil well and adapted to draw up crude oil therefrom. The pump unit comprises a pump cylinder, and a plunger reciprocatingly moved in the pump cylinder. The plunger is provided with a clearance formed between the outer circumferential surface of a lower end portion thereof and the inner circumferential surface of the pump cylinder. The pressure oil supplied from the hydraulic unit is ejected from the clearance along the inner surface of the pump cylinder into a cylinder chamber.

  • A method is described for producing tritium in a fast breeder reactor cooled with liquid metal. Lithium is allowed to flow through the reactor in separate loops in order to facilitate the production and removal of tritium.
  • A patented system for the production of high-temperature plasma is described. It consists of a magnetic trap, two accelerating systems (each of which, in turn, consists of an electron and an ion accelerator), and an ion source. The ions, upon leaving the source, are accelerated by the ion accelerator, after which the electron and ion flows merge and result in the formation of a quasi-neutral plasma. A similar process takes place also in the other accelerator with the one difference that the plasma current, in the given case, goes to meet the other current formed by the former accelerating system.more » The quasi-neutral plasma counter-currents merge in the magnetic trap, and the resulting high-temperature plasma has a density that is fully sufficient for a thermonuclear reaction. The decrease of plasma density in consequence of the settling of particles on the trap walls is reduced to a minimum. The system has the following parameters: plasma density in the magnetic trap: 10/sup 11/ to 10/sup 15/ cm/sup -3/; plasma particle energy: 100,000 to 200,000 ev; magnitudes of electron and ion currents are of the order of 10/sup 3/ amp, and magnetic field strength in the trap: 6 x 10/sup 4/ to 10/sup 5/ Oe.
