Spectroluminescence and lasing characteristics of a new series of bifluorophoric laser dyes

Results of studies of the spectroluminescence and lasing characteristics of two new bifluorophoric laser dyes are given. The synthesized compounds are characterized by broader absorption and luminescence bands (..delta..lambdaapprox.240 nm) as compared to known compounds and allow us to achieve efficient lasing in the 530--610-nm spectral range. Study of the lasing characteristics of the new compounds is conducted in a dye laser with distributed feedback and excited by nitrogen laser radiation.
