Inhomogeneity of the vitrinites in coals of kuzbass

A mathematical analysis is given of the influence of individual factors on the size of the scatter of the values of the reflectances in polished briquettes. The degree of polarization of the light has been determined in a MIM-7 microscope, Q.0.39/plus or minus/0.02. It has been established that the dispersion of the bulk reflectance changes according to a curve with a minimum in the region of medium stages of metamorphism. It has been shown that the difference in the reflectances of different types of vitrinites - telinites and collinites - is independent of reduction of the coals. 17 refs.
