New technology for the finish gear-cutting of wide-pitch toothed rings

The authors describe a tool for the finish-machining of toothed rings with a diameter of 8000 mm and a module of 28 mm. Examples of its application are presented. The possibility is examined of determining the wear during finish gear-cutting of large rings, based on the length of the cutting path.
