Radiative decays of 1/sup -/ quarkonia to )/sup +- /, 1/sup +/, 2/sup +- / states

We examine two-body radiative decays of quarkonium states O-italic-circumflex..--> gamma..+zeta in order to study the effects of the spin of the zeta on decay widths; zeta stands for any elementary particle or resonance. Using effective zeta couplings in a calculation which goes beyond the Wilczek approximation, we find that in all cases examined, J-italic/sub zeta/ = 0/sup +- /, 1/sup +/, 2/sup +- /, spin has little effect on the ratio GAMMA(O-italic-circumflex(2S-italic)..--> gamma..+zeta)/ GAMMA(O-italic-circumflex(1S-italic)..--> gamma..+zeta) except for zeta masses close to the phase-space limit.
