Title: The convergence of planning policies concerned with conservation areas of buildings of architectural merit and of housing action areas

Abstract

In Britain there has been a convergence of planning policies concerned with Conservation Areas of buildings of architectural merit and of Housing Action Areas. Renewal Strategies setting out local authority housing area rehabilitation and renewal policy and also Conservation policy concerned with the restoration and maintenance of housing in areas of architectural merit may be found to overlap. There are similar aims in both policies which are examined in the specific case of the inner urban areas of Leicester.
