Measured dynamic behavior of North Sea gravity platforms under extreme environmental conditions

This paper describes results from analyses of full-scale measurements of dynamic response, recorded under extreme environmental conditions, of three gravity platforms in the North Sea. The paper concentrates on evaluation of the composition of the dynamic response, on characterization of the loading mechanisms for the environmental loading and on description of the behaviour of the structural systems. Furthermore, the consequences of some of the observed effects for deep water platforms are discussed.
