The exchange rates of deuterium and tritium in two different positions of thiophene against protium in 57,02 plus or minus 0.09% by weight aqueous sulfuric acid at 24.6 plus or minus O.l deg C have been determined in a heterogeneous system. The kinetic isotope effect for each position and the exchange rate ratio for each heavy isotope have been obtained from the specific exchange rate constants. (auth)
