SEPARATION AND DETECTION OF HYDROGEN, TRITIUM HYDRIDE, AND TRITIUM AT LOW- LEVEL TRITIUM ACTIVITIES BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY

The analysis of a 3-ml gaseous mixture of H/sub 2/, HT, and T/sub 2/ with a total T/sub 2/ mole fraction of 10/sup -16/ to 10/sup -13/ is re ported. Separation was effected on two 8-ft 20% ferric oxide-onalumina columns with He carrier at 77 deg K. Detection of H/sub 2/ was by thermal conductivity and of HT and T/sub 2/ by a G-M flow counter.
