A ball-and-socket joint is designed for passing controls into sealed walls. The joint comprises a sphere of radiationabsorbing material surrounded by two casing shells of a hard material, two ball races in the casing, a shank member transversing the sphere along its diameter, and four ball bearings. The sphere can be rotated, and the joint can be disconnected from the wall without dismantling the wall. (D.L.C.)
