Title: A modular approach to the simulation of doubly-fed induction machine systems

Abstract

Wound rotor induction machines with a variety of switching circuitry connected to the rotor side as well are used in many applications. This is especially true in applications where the rotor power is considerable. This paper presents a modular approach for simulating such systems. Changes in the mode of operation due to switch changes are taken care of automatically. Shorting of the rotor terminals automatically simulates a stator-fed operation. The approach and algorithm presented here are validated by excellent agreement with the results of earlier research workers.
