Title: THE EXTRACTION OF A NEGATIVE HYDROGEN ION BEAM FROM A DUO-PLASMATRON SOURCE

An attempt to increase the yield of directly extracted negative hydrogen ions by variations in the geometry of a duo-plasmatron ion source is described. Measurements show that the negative ion beam thus formed avoids several disadvantages and emerges as a beam of exceptionally good quality. (C.E.S.)
