Title: FUEL COMPOSITION FOR NUCLEAR REACTORS

Abstract

Fused-sait fuel for nuclear reactors, consisting of (1) 0.01 to 50 wt.% of at least one of the elements U, Th, and Pu in the form of oxides, halogenides, and/or salts containing oxygen, and (2) at least one component of the classes (a) S in the form of sulfur oxides, metal suifates, metal suifites, metal halogensuifonates, and/or suifur acids, 6) halogen in the form of metal halogenides, metal halogensulfonates, and/or metal halogenphosphates, (c) P in the form of phosphorus oxides, metal phosphates, metal phosphites, and/or metal halogenphosphates, and (d) at least one oxide of a nonmetal and/or of another metal as those mentioned under (1), the halogen and/or sulfur quantity constituting at least 1 atom c/o of the total quantity of S, P, and halogen atoms in the total mass and the quantity of the components (2a), (2b), and (2c) constituting at least 60 wt.% of the U, Th, and Pu-free part of the mass is shown. Numerous examples of possible compositions are given. (NPO)
