Title: THE IN-LINE ANALYSIS OF ELECTROLYTIC DISSOLVER SOLUTIONS FOR NITRIC ACID AND SALT CONCENTRATIONS

Abstract

Two instruments were developed for simultaneous inline analysis of nitric acid and salt concentrations in electrolnic dissolver product solutions. Two measurements are required in each case. The dual conductance analyzer measures two electrolytic conductances, those of the product solution and a known volume dilution of this product. The second method is based upon a conductance and a density measurement of the undiluted solutions. The instruments were applied to an operating dissolver system, and the results agreed with standard analyses with a standard deviation of plus or minus 0.2 equivalent per liter for both components.
