The theory of the Lorentz group and other symmetry groups of interest in Field Theory are discussed. Facts and definitions in the theory of matrices and groups are reviewed. Topics covered include: inhomogeneous Lorentz transformations, the Lorentz group and the rotation group, tensors and tensor fields in Lorentz space, Lie groups, transformations in quantum mechanics, systems of many identical non-interacting particles, description of particles of arbitrary spin, finite-dimensional representations of the homogeneous proper Lorentz group, and Dirac theory.
