Title: PRODUCTION OF Mu MESON BEAM OF MOMENTUM ABOVE 6.5 Bev/c AT BROOKHAVEN AGS

The method used in computing the intensity and momentum spectrum of a mu meson beam to be obtained by decays in a pion beam from the Brookhaven AGS is described. Characteristics of the naagnets that supposedly will be available are given, and properties of the mu and pi fluxes at varying positions are displayed. A total flux of 6.5 Bev/c muons of 9 x 10/sup 6/ per 10/sup 11/ circulating protons is estimated. Extension of the beam transport system to permit more pion decay seems to offer higher muon fluxes and momenta. (D.C.W.)
