THE ROLE OF VIRTUAL EXCITATIONS IN THE SCATTERING OF NUCLEONS BY NUCLEI
Journal Article

· Proc. Phys. Soc. (London)
Using a simple nuclear model it is shown that some of the low-lying resonances in the scattering of neutrons by C/sup 12/ are possibly consequences of the virtual excitation by the neutrons of the 2/sup +/ first excited state at 4.43 Mev in C/sup 12/. (auth)
