Title: A CRYSTAL METHOD FOR MEASURING THE LINEAR POLARIZATION OF PHOTONS IN THE MULTI-Gev REGION. Note No. 174

Abstract

A method for measuring linear polarization of photons based on asymmetry in pair production and taking into account the pair particles emitted at any angle in a thin crystal converter is proposed for energies of 1 Bev or more. The beam is permitted to fall on a thin diamond crystal in a pair spectrometer, and angular alignment information gives the necessary data. (D.C.W.)
