Abstract

The bibliography contains citations concerning the application of remote sensing to pollution in the ocean. Remote sensing techniques discussed include radiometry, lidar, radar, satellite observations, infrared scanning, laser spectrometry, acoustics, and microwaves. Articles address oil spills, coastal ecosystems, ocean dumping, dredging, and biological indications of marine pollution. Emphasis is placed on identifying and characterizing oil spills.
