Electrostatic precipitator efficiency improvement using state-of-the-art electrical controls at Suez Cement Plant in Egypt

A very common problem for many cement factories with regard to air pollution control can be described as follows: (1) the company plans to increase kiln capacity, (2) the company is at the same time faced by new Clean Air regulations from their authorities, requiring lower clean gas dust contents, (3) the company wants to achieve these goals with a minimum of investment costs and a minimum of additional running costs. An increased kiln capacity means for the electrostatic precipitator an increased gas flow rate and reduced specific collecting area, resulting in a reduced efficiency of the precipitator.
